Telegram ID

Bots and an API that show the numeric ID of a Telegram user, bot, channel or group.

Bots

The core features are free. Get the ID of:

Groups and channels without a username: pick them with the buttons under the input field or add the bot there.

Inline mode: type @username_to_id_bot in any chat and the bot offers to send your ID. Add a space and a @username to send that account’s ID right into the conversation. →

Forwards and buttons are unlimited, no subscription needed. A subscription adds checks of up to 5 usernames per message, raises the daily limit of username checks and removes ads.

FAQ

What is a Telegram ID?
A permanent numeric identifier of an account or chat. A username can change, the ID cannot.
Why does a channel ID start with -100?
That is how the Bot API writes channels and supergroups: -100 + internal id. E.g. 1006503122 → -1001006503122.
Can I get the ID of a private channel?
Only if you have access: forward a message from it to a bot.
